Jennifer Staciokas, Pinnacle’s Senior Vice President of Marketing & Training, recently had the opportunity to share her thoughts at the RealShare Apartments Conference in Los Angeles, CA on a panel with four other industry experts titled “Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials and the Battle over Amenities.” The panel focused on competition for renters, smart technology, sales and acquisitions of existing assets and renter expectations.
Jennifer shared the shift in how renters view amenities. It is no longer just the physical assets (fitness center, pool etc.) that carry weight when renters are searching for a new home. Trends are leaning towards unique and convenient services for residents that differentiate their apartment building from the competition, such as onsite Amazon lockers, pet services partnerships like Wag! and Baroo, luxury car sharing services like Drive On and virtual move-in concierges who move-in processes seamless via Pinnacle Makes Moving Easy powered by Updater.
Jennifer also stressed the importance of event marketing to create brand awareness, increase resident retention and offer experiences to renters that they can only enjoy by being a resident of a Pinnacle apartment community. She shared examples of Yelp Elite events that Pinnacle hosted in Denver, Chicago, Orange County and Phoenix in the last 12-18 months. She also spoke about offering Mixology Monday events in person and via Facebook Live as well as partnering with local publications to host large scale events that are different from standard apartment community resident events, such as our recent Miami Nights event in Orange County.
