Pinnacle’s Senior Vice President, Greg Mark, was a recent panelist at the 2018 NMHC OPTECH Conference in Orlando, Florida where he joined other industry leaders in a discussion titled “Opportunity Doesn’t Knock: Using Smart Home Technology to Open the Door to the New Economy.”
In this session, Greg shared how Pinnacle, as a leading multifamily management firm, must carefully evaluate which high-tech amenity or service is a good fit for target residents at each of its managed community. He noted return on investment, resident demands and market trends as benchmarks in the evaluations.
Greg also spoke about the growing shift in resident demand for in-unit package delivery, housekeeping and pet walking. Keyless entry has become a necessary pathway for these services, he said, in a community’s ability to adopt these services. He also discussed challenges faced with keyless entry, some of which include the security of resident homes and the identity of those entering them.
OPTECH took place on November 14 and provided a forum for senior practice leaders from a wide variety of disciplines to collaborate on strategic action, incubate new ideas and elevate the industry across all areas of business operations and technology.
