Greg Mark, Pinnacle’s Senior Vice President, recently shared his thoughts on multifamily leasing, marketing and operations trends at the third annual Marcus & Millichap / IPA Southeast Multifamily Forum: Georgia and the Carolinas. Over 300 multifamily executives and decision-makers attended the event in Atlanta on April 13, 2017.
Joined on the panel by three other industry executives, Greg discussed the various challenges and opportunities property managers tackle to help drive the performance of their assets. One of the key takeaways included the importance of controlling expenses to maximize NOI while facing the challenges of giving away concessions and battling vacancy on lease-ups.
While discussing strategies to identify new amenities for residents, Greg noted the success Pinnacle has had with smart, well-designed renovations which cater to the needs of the target demographic. Pet friendly amenities and community focused spaces for events were well-received during the discussion.
Greg emphasized the importance of promoting a “green” lifestyle as a way to reduce our carbon footprint and focused on the impact it has on attracting new tenants. He also discussed the importance of sourcing out new talent for our industry and catering our operations to meet the demands of rapidly evolving resident clientele. He mentioned the importance of establishing a strong corporate culture aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention.
