Orlando Theme Park Happenings in February

Theme Park HappeningsMardi Gras, Food Festivities, and International Art

Everyone knows that family fun romps and stomps through Orlando’s theme parks every day of the year. But with a bit of foresight, you can tumble into unique cultural festivals and parties taking place inside the same storied gates we love. Here are some of the best theme park happenings in February of 2020.

Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida

There’s no need to cross state lines from Florida to Louisiana for a genuine Mardi Gras celebration. Taking its cue from the notorious annual shindig in New Orleans, Universal Studios Florida dazzles with a party to remember. Running from February 1-12, Universal Orlando Resort’s Mardi Gras! comes alive with Louisiana jazz, blues and zydeco music as well as steaming heaps of Creole and Cajun jambalaya, etouffee and gumbo.

Festive floats crown the evening with a nightly parade that’s chockful of costumed dancers, stilters and big-band performers. Of course, multi-colored confetti and beads fly through the night air for all to grab, toss and wear.

Epcot International Festival of the Arts

Walt Disney World Resort gives a noted nod to international music, art and food at its annual Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which spices up the Disney kingdom through February 24. World music seeps through every crook and crevice, while main stages showcase the Disney on Broadway Concert Series with theatrical performances by beloved Disney characters.

Splashy art projects let you learn drawing from professional Disney animators, or you can pick up a paintbrush and add your own creative touch to a massive paint-by numbers mural. Culinary arts earn their place with myriad “food studios” and the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.

Seven Seas Food Festival at Seaworld Orlando

Seaworld Orlando believes in partying long and hard with its Seven Seas Food Festival. Starting on February 7, the fun stretches all the way through the first weekend of May. Global culinary marketplaces dot the entire park on Fridays through Sundays, along with authentic international street food. Chefs dish out more than 180 exotic food and drink options from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, Pacific Rim countries and South America. Live music performances include diverse productions featuring Latin, rock, jazz, country, rap and ethnic world music.
